BANANA BREAD OATMEAL

This healthy banana bread oatmeal recipe is the best oatmeal I’ve ever had! The oatmeal tastes perfectly sweet, yet is only sweetened with bananas and cinnamon. Protein powder and egg whites also make it a high protein breakfast. Balanced breakfast, perfect if you are heading out to exercise, need energy for work, or are just looking to a good start to the day! Enjoy!

INGREDIENTS

1/4 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup water
3 tbsp eggs whites (2 egg whites)
1/2 small banana, mashed
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp sea salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp. nut butter (my favorite is vanilla almond RX butter)
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
1 tbsp chopped peanuts (or nuts of choice)

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Combine the rolled oats, water, egg whites, mashed banana, vanilla, sea salt, and cinnamon in a microwave-safe bowl. Mix together.

  2. Microwave for 2-3 minutes.

  3. Take the oatmeal out and stir in the nut butter until smooth, then stir in the protein powder.

  4. Top with chopped almonds and banana if desired. Enjoy!
